“Can you use toothpaste with dentures in?”
I am a 65 year old male. I want to know can you use toothpaste with dentures in?

Many doctors have stated that brushing dentures with regular toothpaste will create micro scratches in the acrylic of the denture/teeth and allow for increased staining or plaque retention - I’d say for a quick, clean use water only; more through cleaning with a denture cleaner.
Hi,
If they are removable partials or a complete denture, it is best to take out and soak them in Efferdent or Polident per manufacturer instructions. You should use a denture cream toothpaste so as not to be too abrasive and scratch or harm your acrylic on the dentures.

It is NOT recommended to use toothpaste on dentures. It is made out of the plastic that is soft compared to the tooth covering enamel (98% minerals). Toothpaste contains special abrasive particles to remove tartar/buildup from natural enamel. You will clean dentures with a denture brush and disinfect them in denture tablets every morning and evening.
