“Can you wear dentures if you have bone loss?”
I am a 65 year old male. I want to know if you can wear dentures if you have bone loss?

It is hard to wear dentures when you have bone loss. The denture has nothing to hold onto and becomes loose. This is why people start using Fixadent and similar products. You hear people say their dentures don't fit because their gums shrink. This is not true. Gums don't shrink the bone has resorbed and they no longer have bone to support the denture.
Yes, you can wear dentures if you have bone loss, but there is less retention (hold) for the dentures, especially the lower one. Implant-supported dentures will be the best option in that case.
