Can I get rabies from a cat scratch?

It is theoretically possible, but extremely unlikely. It would entail the cat being rabid, for one, and the introduction of the animal's salive in the wound, which is not that unlikely. It you have warranted suspicion that a cat in your vicinity is rabid, seek veterinary andor police help immediatly. It is nothing to joke about.
