Covid vaccine question?

I took the first dose of Moderna covid vaccine in March but never took the second dose. Can I get the Johnson and Johnson vaccine now instead?

Key is get something. I would stick with Moderna however if that is a deal breaker get J&J. Both greatly reduce risk from death and hospitalization
The answer would depend on your risk factors. I assume you are at some level of risk since you got your first Moderna vaccine in March. Taking your second dose of Moderna now would be your best option. Moderna is advisable over J&J at this time. There is no problem with the longer duration between shots and this longer time frame may actually play in your favor giving you better immunity. Talk with your primary physician for more information.

Probably could, but I would not advise it. The Moderna has the best track record, i.e., stronger, lasts longer. Stick with Moderna for # 2 and a booster 6 months later.

My recommendation would be to forget the J&J vaccine. It has been consistently inferior to the mRNA vaccines in essentially all studies. You should take your second Moderna vaccine ASAP and 6 months afterwards take your 3rd Moderna vaccine booster.
Thanks for the question.
You can take any of the vaccines, but you will need two doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, and likely two more doses of the others.
