“Dehydration?”
My wife is convinced that dehydration causes diarrhea. She does not believe that the diarrhea leads to the dehydration. My question is does dehydration cause diarrhea?

I think you are right here. Diarrhea causes dehydration.
No, dehydration does not cause diarrhea. The other way around of course is possible.
