If you have swelling, bleeding red gums. Yes if there is a problem with the wisdom tooth that requires it to be extracted antibiotics will only decrease the symptom it will not correct the problem
If you have infection then yes, signs and symptoms of infection include swelling, fever, puss drainage, pain and sometimes X-ray changes.
If the wisdom tooth is infected, it has to be removed and then your doctor would place you on antibiotics. If the gum is inflamed, there are different solutions other than antibiotics that your dentist can advise you about.
There are times that an infected wisdom tooth may require antibiotics, you should see a dentist to answer that question for your situation.
Antibiotics are not always required. It depends on the severity of the infection. Please follow up with your local dentist.

It's possible. It depends on the symptoms you're having and the cause of those symptoms. I don't know what your symptoms are or why you think the wisdom tooth is infected. Did you get something stuck under the gums there? Then you need it cleaned out and not antibiotics. Did you stab yourself with something? Then you may need warm salt water rinsing and not antibiotics. Do you have a huge cavity that goes into the nerve? Then you probably need antibiotics and an extraction. Your best bet is to see a dentist.
You’ll need antibiotics to clear up an infection in a wisdom tooth. It’s important that you visit an oral surgeon for a consultation. You may need to take antibiotics at least a week before having the affected tooth treated.
Good luck.
Good luck.
In most cases, yes you do need antibiotics to prevent infection from spreading. After a course of antibiotics, if needed the wisdom tooth should be extracted. Please consult a Dentist as soon as possible
