Do I need to go to urgent care?

I got a tetanus shot this year. But I just stabbed my foot with a pair or rusty, dirty garden shears. It broke the skin. Should I go to an urgent care place today?

You should seek medical attention even though your tetanus immunization is up-to-date you are at risk for infection especially if the nail struck a bone it’s possible you may still have a retained foreign body under the skin
If no need for sutures, there is no need for urgent care. However, if you are diabetic, clean the area and follow up with your Dr. if you develop a red, swelling foot or pain develops.

Yes, go to urgent care - you may need an X-ray and/or an antibiotic.
