Do ascites in the stomach/abdomen respond to laxatives?

I have a distended stomach that goes down after taking laxatives and lioness. I want to know if ascites go away with laxatives?

Not really.
Ascites is the build up of fluid within the abdominal cavity, not within the intestines. Ascites is usually the result of chronic liver disease. If your symptoms improve with medication such as laxatives and Linzess, you likely have constipation and not ascites. You should discuss your bloating with your primary care doctor or gastroenterologist.

I'm a bit puzzled by your question. Ascites is fluid in the belly but outside of the bowel. This occurs in cirrhosis, metastatic cancer, and other rare conditions. So I'm not sure if you really have ascites, which would not respond to laxatives.

A distended abdomen (without ascites) can happen for different reasons, including constipation, ileus, and bloating due to carbohydrate malabsorption.
If your abdominal distension is reduced by laxatives then this is consistent with constipation being the source of the distension.
