Do they clean your teeth before braces?

I am a 16 year old female and I will get braces. I wonder if they clean your teeth before braces?

Because cleaning around your teeth is more difficult when you have braces, it is always recommended that you have a thorough examination with radiographs and also a dental cleaning before you have your braces put on. In addition, it is important to be very meticulous in your oral hygiene practices while you have your braces on. Gum tissues can get inflamed very easily and quickly during orthodontic treatment. Food particles have more places to stick to and can also increase your risk for dental decay and decalcification of your enamel causing white spots and weaker tooth structure. A fluoride rinse or a prescription fluoride toothpaste is also a good idea while in orthodontic treatment.
Yes, you should get a cleaning before and during braces.

They do not clean your teeth the way they do when you have your 6-month checkup and cleaning at the general dentist. You might have a toothbrush prophy or a pumice on the surfaces where the braces will be bonded, but they will not scale the tartar off the back of the lower incisors.
I assume by "they," you are referring to the orthodontist. Usually, you will want to go to your hygienist at your regular general dentist's office to get a cleaning before you have braces put on your teeth by your orthodontist. At your cleaning appointment, the dentist should also verify that you do not have any active cavities as it will be very troublesome if you don't have those fixed before having braces placed.
Hope this helps!
They are not going to clean your gum tissue, but they will use pumice and etch to prepare the teeth for bonding the prices. You should have your teeth cleaned before getting braces put on.
Hope this helps.

It's best to have a routine checkup and cleaning prior to braces. Once you have had the braces placed, follow up with your dentist for routine dental cleanings.
Thank you.

Usually, they pumice the teeth, so yes, but it’s always best to have your dentist clean before your appointment.
