I will have a bladder biopsy. Do you get anesthesia for a bladder biopsy?

Yes, local anesthesia though the glans Pennis. It is an office procedure. The Urologist insert a scope thru the Pennis after the local anesthetic and take the biopsy. You are awake at all time. You could feel some discomfort but not pain. it is a quit procedure. Thank you.

If the biopsy is part of a cystoscopy done by a Urologist, anesthesia may not be necessary. But this is an "invasive" procedure, and it would depend on the nature of the biopsy.

Yes, conscious sedation. It’s very painful.
