Most vein procedures are performed in an office setting, local anesthesia is used, and the patient is awake.
Typically one doesn’t need general anesthesia for varicose vein surgery. Mostly these procedures are done under local anesthesia. Sometimes oral sedatives may be prescribed. This is it and it's perfect! Make it a great day.
Please, refer to previous answers to the same question. In most places local and sedation some hospitals use general anesthesia.
