I will have heart stent surgery. Do you need to be on blood thinners after a stent?

Yes the patient should be on dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin with either plavix, effient, or brillinta. But if patient is already taking blood thinners like coumadin or NOAC then additional medication maybe added.
