I am a 42 year old male. I want to know if an abdominal CT scan shows colon polyps?

A regular CT scan, no. CT virtual colonoscopy can.
Yes. Has to be done a certain way. With proper bowel prep, good quality machine and appropriate distension.
Not in the small one. It is better detected with a colonoscopy.
