Hi good question With the gastric sleeve the space for food is reduced so smaller amounts of food reduce the amount the body can absorb be it iron or any other nutrients When I had mine done I had issues keeping up with Protein and vit d Supplements solved this for me.
I’m your case I would have pre and post-op iron levels done and see if absorption has dropped too far then top up with a product like feel to bring levels up Hope this helps

The iron absortion is not as much because the stomach compartment holds
less food if a gastric sleeve is in place and nutrients are less then

No, iron is absorbed in the proximal intestines. It affect Vitamin B12 absorption, which can cause a type of anemia.
