Sometimes injection of local anesthesia can burn a little, but it is not extremely painful.
If you mean infiltration of the local anesthetic, the initial injection could give you a slight burning sensation, but no significant pain. The same goes for IV injection of medicine for induction of general anesthesia, such as Propofol or Etomidate. That’s why they gave in combination with local anesthetic Lidocaine, which reduces that burning sensation and instead could give a cool sensation on IV injection instead. Which is very tolerable.
Injection of local anesthesia may burn a bit at first due to the pH of the
solution required to keep the medication stable in solution.
Unfortunately, yes it does, however, the pain is temporary and should go away after less than a minute. It feels like an intense burning sensation. Honestly, the worst part of having a procedure with local anesthesia is the local anesthesia itself! Sometimes a distraction technique like tapping another part of your body, or pinching/scratching another part of your body while the injection is happening can help. Good luck!
it is uncomfortable.
