“Drug screen?”
I'm due a drug screen and I've taken my hydrocodone as directed, but I had to take a few extra pills for my back pain at night. So the next 3 days I'll miss having any pills. But I've got 4 left to take on the day of the appt. I need to be positive on the day of appt.

As long as you are routinely taking them, even having a day or two without them you will most likely still test positive.
You are self dosing and attempting to direct your prescription of a narcotic pain medication WITHOUT a medical license, trying to "game" the system! No physician should EVER prescribe this medication or any controlled medications to you ever again.
You should not take extra pills at night unless you have called your doctor's office and gotten the approval to do so. As long as you have taken it the day of your appointment it should be in your system, but they should always ask when you took it last and that allows them to know how much should be in your urine or blood.
All you have to do is take one hydrocodone within 8 hours of the test and you will test positive.
