I'm a 60 year old male. I just take colesteral medicine and started getting chills then hot flashes. I have a scratchy throat, diarrhea, and a lack of energy.

Seek out your ordinary care doctor. This can be many medical issues.
Cholesterol medicine may cause tiredness and lack of energy, but the hot flushes may be due to low estrogen and progesterone - menopause. Among the statins, rosuvastatin causes less side effects. See a doctor.
