Dermatologist Questions Skin Rash

HCTZ and skin rash

After taking HCTZ for one week, I had a skin rash reaction two times after being in the sun. HCTZ worked well for my BP after being unable to tolerate b blockers, ace inhibitors and CCBs. I'm also on Benicar, but it either doesn't work, or it actually raises my BP.
Can I take HCTZ if I control my sun exposure, or should I quit it altogether? Will the reaction become worse than the moderately intense 1 hour reaction, if I continue taking it?

Complaint duration: 60- 90 minutes
Medications: BENICAR and HCTZ and Plavix
Conditions: CABG/BP/CHOLESTEROL

Hello there! Photodermatitis or sun exposure related rashes can have different causes from meds to autoimmune diseases. I recommend see a physician/dermatologist that can evaluate, and if needed, biopsy and diagnose this skin condition so appropriate treatment can be given!
