OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions OB-GYN

How do I find a doctor to treat me thoroughly for my issue?

I have had a white discharge along with pain for about a year. I had numerous tests with no indication of an STD. I believe it is a pelvic inflammatory disease. My problem is finding some gynecologist who will treat me with the care I need. I really need one right away so I'm asking for advice here.

I don't know where you live, but you should be able to call around and find someone who treats pelvic infections or who completely understands why you have this discharge and these symptoms. What has been the explanation for your symptoms? There are many reasons for a discharge that have to do with hormones, allergies, autoimmune conditions etc...There are more reasons for a discharge than pelvic infection. Perhaps a doctor that does not do obstetrics and focuses exclusively on gynecology.
I’m sorry you’re frustrated with your symptoms and not getting answers. You may have 2 different things going on, the first being discharge and the 2nd being pain. The two could be related but may not be from the same underlying cause. Sometimes discharge occurs for non-infectious reasons (vaginal lining conditions) and in that case infectious testing and tests for bacterial vaginitis and yeast would likely be normal. It can be hard to treat.
The important thing is for you to find a doctor that will work with you and listen to you and help you understand what the tests are showing.
You might consider going to an academic/university medical center near you.
I agree you need a solution I would ask reliable friends for recommendations. If you live near a medical center, that also would be a good option
Go to a University clinic in your area (Eg: Stanford University Clinic or UCSF Clinic) and find a pelvic pain clinic. You will possibly get the care you need for your condition per your diagnosis.
Take care!
