How do I treat a sprained foot?

I sprained my foot badly. It hurts. What can I do? Should I go to the emergency room?

highly recommend that you go to ER, orthopedic urgent care, podiatrist, anyone that can see you asap and do an exam with xray.
IT HAS TO BE IMMOBILIZED FOR 15 DAYS
If you cannot bear weight on the injured foot, you need to go to the emergency room. Otherwise ice, elevate, compress with ace bandage, and rest. If it still is painful after a few days, see your local podiatrist.
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for appropriate diagnosis and treatment
