“How do you get rid of geographic tongue?”
My tongue has spots on it. My dentist told me I have a geographic tongue. Is it serious?

No. It's nothing to be worried about. The actual cause is not known.

It is a condition that exists in a percentage of the population which manifests by a tongue that looks like a map is on it. No deleterious condition if you have it except that it looks strange.
You should have it evaluated clinically, preferably with an oral surgeon.

Geographic tongue is idiopathic - no one knows the cause or how to correct it. It is benign, so you do not have to be concerned about it.
