“How do you know if your SI joint is out of place?”
I am a 47 year old male. I wonder how can you know if your SI joint is out of place?

There are a number of different signs and symptoms present when an SI joint is affected. Some may include pain, discomfort, and muscle spasms present in the area. One may also notice difficulty walking, abnormal gait, the un-even wearing of shoes, or difficulty placing one full weight on the affected side. This is not all-encompassing of symptoms and a proper examination would be necessitated to determine the cause of the discomfort/pain.
Tenderness, decreased range of motion, pain upon walking, and the big one, pain and a hard time getting up from sitting in a chair.
The vertebrae of the spine which includes the SI joint should move in conjunction with each other. If one is moving too little the others adapt and move extra. If you "crack" joints or any other part of the body improperly you will make the problem worse. The cracking may give temporary relief due to the release of endorphins, but that is not beneficial. It is an art to manipulate the joints and individuals who practice manipulation have to be carefully trained. See a professional.
