How long after a chiropractic adjustment do you feel better?

After my first chiropractic back adjustment, I still feel bad. How long after a chiropractic adjustment do you feel better?

depends on how long the problem (not the pain) has been there and depends on the person's overall health
Every person is different. Some feel relief a lot quicker than others. You should ask your chiropractor about the specifics of your case.
This is dependent on your condition and therapies paired with the adjustment, most conditions can see improvement from one adjustment, but typically take more consistency and frequency to see a better term effect.
It depends on if your pain is Acute (recent) or Chronic (been present for a long time). If the pain is recent, it may take a number of treatments to start to feel better. Although, usually patients do feel improved with Chiropractic Care within the first several weeks. I use a Chiropractic instrument to do the Adjustment on many of my patients. There is less post-treatment soreness, as it doesn’t cause any additional temporary inflammation. Whereas a manual (by hand) adjustment can increase inflammation initially.
There can be some soreness after your first couple of chiropractic adjustments. Although it can depend on your diagnosis, your history as well as the technique the doctor is using to adjust you. I would recommend telling your doctor the symptoms you are feeling and see how you can both work together you get you feeling better!
Everyone is different. I would give it at least 3 or 4 treatments before you judge if it's helping or not. For everyone it is different. We put people on a certain number a visits we usually do 12 or 15 visits over the course of 6 or 7 weeks, getting adjusted a couple times a week. Usually one adjustment will not take away your pain.
The time frame for getting pain relief after a chiropractic adjustment varies from person to person and also depends on the severity of each case. Although we would all want instantaneous relief after just one adjustment, it usually doesn't work that way. Pain or issues that lead a person to seek help usually did not began when the person started feeling pain. These issues have been developing for years or even decades. Pain is the body's emergency alert system signaling damage being done within the body. Just as the issues took time to develop, it will also take time to correct. Be patient with your body. Continue to see your chiropractor regularly in order to not only relieve current pain, but also to eliminate the root cause of the pain.
Hi and thanks for the question!

Yes, sometimes this can happen. I don't have the details of the case, i.e., how long had you been suffering with this pain, what is the history of injuries of the area, how old you are, what is your daily life like, and more... What you need to understand is that the chiropractic adjustment is not a "one and done" kind of treatment, it usually takes a couple of adjustments and a couple of months of stretching and working out certain muscle groups to see long-lasting results.
Thanks again for the question, good luck on your wellness journey.

Thank you,

This really depends on your specific condition and health of your spine. I will say that the majority of back and neck problems don't happen because of a single event, it's a process that created it. It will be a process to fix someone's spine and get them feeling back to 100%. I've seen people feel 100% better after one adjustment and one after forty. It's a case by case basis.
