I tell my patient that healing times varies depending on the particular elective foot surgical procedure. Most of incisions outer scar is well headed in approximately 3 months. However, the body usually will continue to heal from anywhere approximately 16 to 18 month especially if there is any cutting of the bone then all the tissue (soft tissue and bone) will have varying healing time period. Also, ones overall health status, nutritional status, smoking, drinking of alcohol beverages, circulation, health issues all impacts the healing process.
Well if a patient is not immunocompromised (ie: Diabetic; Rheumatoid arthritic; Lupus erythematosis; etc.) then normal healing skin is 75% healed (based on tensile strength) within 3 weeks (21 days). For an additional 2 - 3 weeks the skin goes through a "remodeling phase" and is 100% healed within 5 - 6 weeks after surgery.
Hi! Skin on the top of the foot takes around 2 weeks to heal and the bottom of the foot 3 weeks to heal.
Incisions usually heal in 2-3 weeks. . I recommend you discuss with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for your particular case
An incision takes 2-3 weeks to heal, but the repair of whatever is being done will likely take more time to heal than the incision. My patients are often in bandages and can not get their feet wet for an average of 6 weeks after surgery
