If your daughter has vomiting and/or diarrhea for more than 3 days without signs of improvement, she should start with pedialyte and may need IV fluids to stop the cycle.
Typically symptoms can last anywhere from a few days to up to 2 weeks, depending on the age of the child and other co-morbidities.
Some last a day or two while others can last for a month. Hope she’s feeling better now.
It usually lasts 1-3 days. After the infection is gone, the stomach or intestines can become irritated such that symptoms can persists for many more days or weeks, especially if the initial infection is severe.
