Your mouth can stay numb from 4 to 8 hours after treatment depending on what kind of anesthetic was used. Another contributing factor would be how quickly you metabolize the anesthetic used.
Since every patient is unique, it’s difficult to give a definitive answer. It could be 1 hour, more or less.
This varies according to the type of anesthetic used, the type of injection or location of the injection, and the physiological metabolism of the patient. However, a good generalization is most numbness is noticeably less in one to two hours and gone completely in four hours.
It depends on which anesthetic is used. Often, I use one that wears off in less than an hour, though sometimes a stronger one is used, which can last up to 6 hours.
