My sister had a baby in the 7th month of her pregnancy. The baby is now in the NICU. How long will the baby need to be in the NICU?

Baby needs to be much closer to due date Goals for discharge include feeding well, no extra support (no oxygen, intravenous fluids, temperature support and free of other acute medical issues. It depends on how sick the baby is, and how well she is growing and developing. Some babies spend months in the NICU.
