I would recommend that you see a doctor asap.
It sounds like you pain is from the neuropathy you have listed. The doctor that ordered the Gabapentin may be able to increase the dosage. There is MLS laser therapy which I use in the office for patients who find that the medication either doesn't work or they don't like the side effects.
If no trauma maybe gout, again see a podiatrist
You need to see a podiatrist

It's best to be evaluated by a specialist
There are many diagnoses that may cause your symptoms, some which are minor and some severe. Please make an appointment as soon as you can to have this evaluated by your local podiatrist. Best of luck!
Need to have professional evaluation.
Any time you have an injury that makes it hard to walk it is best to get it evaluated. You will need x-rays and a hands on evaluation. The tendency is to go to urgent care or the emergency room for these types of injuries, but it is always best to get in to see a foot specialists if possible. Given your medical conditions that you listed, it is very important to be seen in a timely manner.
Unfortunately your symptoms match up with your diagnosis of neuropathy. Consult with a Board Certified Podiatric Surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
Where is the pain? It makes a big difference on where the location of your pain is. However, if you’re in such discomfort, it is simply obvious that you need to seek the attention of a medical professional and not seek your answers on the internet. You clearly need to have the problem examined and treated in person
If there is no trauma, this is likely sciatic nerve pain and circulation problems. Ultrasound testing and NCV/EMG testing needed to further define along with bloodwork.
