I dislocated my finger during basketball?

I am 16 years old and I was playing basketball ball with my friends 2 days ago. My friend quickly passed the ball to me and I reached out to receive it, but my pinkie was fully extended and collided with the ball. The pain was sharp, so I put pressure on it to relieve the pain and I felt my finger pop back into place. I did not notice my pinkie was dislocated because I did not look down. Other than the swelling, my finger looks like it’s in the right way and I have all its motor functions. I still feel pain when moving the finger, and I’m wondering if I need to do anything else or if I should just wait for it to recover.

Buddy tape it to ring finger x 4 weeks.
Visit urgent care. You need an X-ray of your hand.
X-ray to rule out fracture and if not, a splint will do well, but you need a professional to make the splint.
You should definitely get this valuated by and orthopedic surgeon or orthopedic hand specialist. Finger dislocations usually progress well and he’ll nicely but they do require some oversight and supervision.
