Depends on the 'size'/intensity of the individual dose(s), the length of the procedure (holding still) and the location of the therapy (? Closeness to vital things). The therapist should be able to tell you. Ask them, what the last 100 people who have had this procedure chosen to do?
No anesthesia unless uncooperative. IV sedation is possible.
It's possible but mainly conscious sedation.
