Patients are put under general anesthesia. You will be completely asleep throughout the procedure. A breathing tube is inserted by the anesthesia team to temporarily place you on a ventilator since you will be under general anesthesia.
General Anesthesia, the airway must be controlled. Losing the airway is death.
