Every surgery has its own risks. Depending on the type of ankle surgery you are having dictates the degree of risks. Ankle arthroscopy to clean the joint has minimal risks but does hasten the arthritis formation in the joint over time. If there is bone chips that need to be removed then further post-op treatments will be needed. I specialize in regenerative medicine for most treatments instead of surgery. Good luck.
Hi! Every surgery has it's risks and benefits and should be performed for your benefit and not just cosmetic purposes.
That depends on what type of ankle surgery you are to have. Different surgeries carry different levels of risk.
The word "risky" may mean different things to different people. For me as a doctor: surgery are always risky, with anesthesia, infection, slow recovery, side effects of surgery, etc... Risks are accepted if the benefits of the surgery is important to give the patient back their normal life, lessen their misery/pain, and let them live without giving up activties. I would ask that you talk to a doctor about your condition and discuss/ask/research what are the non surgery and surgery options in your treatment plan.
