Is it bad? Should I go to the hospital?

So I have this big habit of hitting my head whenever an intrusive thought comes. I am getting help on my mental health. But now for some reason whenever I hit my head it doesn't hurt. I can feel if I touch it normally. I had headaches where my eyes and ears hurt. Like 3 days ago I felt very giddy for a few minutes after I hit it pretty hard, and then it went away. I think I hit a nerve too, but not too hard. Sometimes my head felt pretty heavy and stiff if I hit it too hard. I'm trying my best to stop this habit.

I am glad that you are getting help for mental health. Hitting your head like this repetitively and for quite sometime, may have caused concussive syndrome. You should seek help from your doctor who may consider getting a scan of your head. Equally important is to address this issue in your psychotherapy to get rid of this negative coping strategy.

It would be a good idea to check it out —- but most important is to stop doing it! Many habit-breaking methods can help: hypnosis, cognitive behavioral exercises — do look into them! Even simple symptom substitution - like doing something else when u feel that urge - bang a nail with a hammer for ex - may work for you.
Good luck!

I would not suggest a hospital, but rather a psychiatrist. Clearly you are struggling with uncomfortable feelings and you avoid them by banging your head. Avoiding uncomfortable feelings doesn't. They just go deeper inside and emerge at the worst possible times. Talking about your life could prove to be helpful.
Yes, have your therapist put in a referral to get an MRI of your head.
