I got a crown yesterday. My gums hurt. Is it normal to have gum pain after getting a crown?

Yes there may be some irritation from the seating of the crown and the removing of excess cement. The pain should be mild and should be gone in 24 hrs. Try holing warm salt water over the tooth every 4-5 hrs.
