Is laying down good for herniated discs?

I am a 47 year old male. I want to know if laying down is good for herniated discs?

Rest acupuncture and physical therapy
Laying down may help by providing some temporary relief for you, but i suggest you see a good provider who can treat you by using the modalities of massage, acupuncture and herbs. You should receive these modalities 2-3 times a week for 6-8 weeks or more to get this problem healed.
If you find that lying down eases the pain, by all means! You might also try acupuncture and chiropractic.
Depends on how you are laying. You don’t want to put excess pressure on the region that is damaged.
This question is not related to acupuncture. Acupuncture can be helpful for herniated discs. Please ask your orthopedic specialist or your MD for advice on laying down.
You'd need to check with a chiropractor or an orthopedic surgeon on that one.
Certainly, certain positions are going to be better than others, lying on the stomach is one to avoid. Depending on the patient and the area of the herniated discs, it may be more comfortable to lay in a fetal position with a pillow between the knees or flat on the back.
Laying down is good for herniated discs. If herniated on the right side, you better lay down on the right side; if herniated on the left side, you can lay down on the left side; if herniated in the middle, you should lay down, but face up.
