Multiple reasons. There is a wide array of treatments and modalities. I will be happy to discuss them in an office visit.
A common cause of pain with rotation in the low back is facet dysfunction. The Lumbar vertebrae is subluxed (out of alignment) which can lead to the facets (where vertebrae meets vertebrae) being in a suboptimal position. When facets are not moving properly they can cause sharp pain that comes and goes quickly and/or muscular spasms that cause dull aching pain. Chiropractic is absolutely a good fix for this issue. Great question!
