Your mother has thickened heart muscle, which is likely due to her hypertension. Yes, it's reversible. It will take good blood pressure medications and lifestyle management (diet, exercise, good sleep hygiene) and diabetes management. None of these drugs sound familiar. Does your mother live outside the US?
Not serious and yes reversible. Blood pressure needs to be optimally controlled ie less than 130/80 consistently. If she is over weight then weight loss would also help reduce stress on the heart and decrease the thickness of the heart.
Mom has hypertensive cardiovascular disease with diastolic dysfunction, which can lead to congestive heart failure. She should  be on a low-salt diet. Excellent control of both blood pressure and diabetes to prevent complications.
