It is always best to start with conservative care before considering surgery. Go in for a full examination first, some kind of imaging will follow, then go from there.
Possibly. It depends on MRI results. It also depends on whether you have exhausted conservative options like PT, injection (steroid), PRP injections and the level of pain and interference with your job or ADLs.
The majority of impingement problems with the shoulder can be managed conservatively without surgery with modalities such as physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and cortisone injections.
