Is there a toothpaste that's good for braces?

I am a 16 year old male. I want to know if there is a toothpaste that's good for braces?

Any that is ADA approved.
Any toothpaste you currently use is still good to use while you have braces. Sometimes I prescribe a toothpaste that has a higher fluoride content to help prevent decalcification (white spots) around the braces. However, the best way to prevent these permanent scars on your enamel is to drink water between meals, limit sugary drinks and snacks, and to brush and floss 3 times a day making sure your teeth are especially spotless before you go to bed at night. I hope this helps. Dr. B
Any fluoride toothpaste works fine, just avoid any of the ones that claim they bleach your teeth.
Yes. There is a prescription toothpaste called PreviDent 5000. You would need to ask your dentist for a prescription. Normal toothpaste has 1500 parts per million fluoride. Prevident 5000 has 5000. The additional fluoride reduces the risk of getting cavities and white spots around the brackets.

Any toothpaste but prevident 5000 is a good toothpaste by prescription!
