Is walking good for osteoporosis?

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I want to know if walking is good for osteoporosis?

Absolutely, yes. It also has cardiovascular (heart and lung) benefits. Walk as far as you can every day for a week. The next week, try to go a little farther and a little faster. Continue till you can walk for at least 1 hour per day. You will be amazed at how much better you feel, and over time, your bones will get stronger. Wear good, cushioned shoes.
Hope it helps!!

Absolutely. As long as you are medically healthy enough to walk, walking is great! Weight bearing exercise helps bone density and strength.
Walking is good for your health in general for various organs but it is also good for osteoporosis, however is it enough to stop progression of osteoporosis or reverse it, NO. If you have confirmed osteoporosis you still need medications for it.
Yes.

Yes, walking is good for osteoporosis as well as some weight training/resistance. You can use your body weight to do some simple exercises, squats, toe lifts, chair lifts push-ups on your knees. You can use resistance bands, which is what the astronauts use in space to fight osteoporosis. You can also use lifting weights in a slow, controlled fashion.
Good luck!

Absolutely, walking is good for osteoporosis; any activity that forces the body’s extremities to push against gravity will strengthen bone.
