Lightheadedness with coughing?

Why do I get lightheaded when I cough?

Male | 66 years old
Complaint duration: 6 months
Medications: Lisinopril, amlodopine, atenolol,hydrochlorothizide, xanax
Conditions: High blood pressure, partially obstructed branch artery

“Lightheadedness” is a nebulous term that does not make much sense to an accomplished physician. That said, there is always a Vaso-vagal response to a cough, and a coughing bout that lasts several minutes can instigate a Vaso-vagal black-out. Your “lightheadedness” is likely a light version of exactly that.
