We are learning new things about coronavirus every day. The smell and taste changes are a reflection of inflammation of the path and area of the brain where cranial nerve #1 nucleus is located. I have had patients report a slow recovery to this symptom and some have a long term distortion. The distortion is a sign the nerves and pathways are recovering. If the damage has only occured in the axon or wiring/path of the nerve, the nerve works on recovery at a rate of 1 mm per 1-2 days. If the damage is in the neuronal or "control center" of the nerve, it will only recover if another nerve is recruited and "trained" for the job. That takes years. Keep your b complex vitamins supplemented to support the regeneration process. Be patient. I wish I had more of an answer for you. I am glad you survived the infection.
