How to treat an inflamed lung?

My teenage son has trouble breathing sometimes. I think he has an inflamed lung. How to treat an inflamed lung?

You first need to be seen by your pediatrician to determine if he has an inflamed lung/asthma. Breathing issues related to asthma are related to the airways becoming inflamed and putting out more than usual mucous and, as a result, getting smaller than normal. This inflammation can be treated with oral steroids and/or inhaled steroids. Your pediatrician would be the one to determine the course of therapy.
Hello

Usually lung inflammation in children results from either an infection such as pneumonia or from long term asthma. I would get an X-ray of the chest first to see his lungs. The treatment is inhaled corticosteroids, such as Flovent, Pulmicort, or Advair. Hope he feels better.

Usually with an inhaled corticosteroid. You need to avoid triggers such as smoke, candles, diffusers, etc.
