“Mixing sulfamethoxazole with alcohol?”
I have a close friend who just started taking sulfamethoxazole for a urinary tract infection. Is it dangerous to combine sulfamethoxazole with alcohol?

You should not drink alcohol while taking this medication. This can causes a lot of side effects. Thanks.
That’s a very poor decision to use alcohol during the time of being on anabiotic’s. It decreases its efficacy therefore not making it as effective as it should and would be without alcohol. Please have your friend abstain for the time of antibiotics. If alcohol becomes a problem because of not using it now there’s another issue that needs to be dealt with. What I mean by that is: no alcohol agitation,Poor sleep, just overall not nice, that’s early with Ross. And that needs to be taken care of then as well.
