Multiple thrombus?

I was already on blood thinners beforehand. I went to the clinic and had an IV inserted in the forearm for an infusion. I started experiencing pain halfway through. Along with bruising, a rash, and hardening of my arm. The IV was flushed and diluted and the infusion resumed the pain got worse and the IV was discontinued. An IV was placed in another area but it caused pain when it was flushed and had to be removed. I went to the ER the next day for severe pain, swelling, bruising, hives, and hardening of the area. I was diagnosed with thrombophlebitis in the basilic vein and infiltration in the other area. A few days later I returned to the ER because I could not feel my pulse in my arm. In addition to the numbness that was traveling further and further up my arm and pain. I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my radial artery. Do you know what could cause this?

Inflammation in the surrounding area.
Unusual complications. You may have a primary hypercoagulation blood problem that is recognized with specialized blood testing. Then any local irritation of a blood vessel can trigger thrombosis. And compression by a finger to stop bleeding can also trigger thrombosis there. Specialist evaluation is essential.

I am sorry to read about your problem. Are you being treated for cancer? There is a heparin-associated hypercoagulation condition, which needs to be treated by different agents, not warfarin, or heparin. I do not know if this makes the so-called DOAC agents, such as Eliquis, also unusable. If you are being treated for cancer, please contact your oncologist ASAP, or if you do not have cancer, contact a Hematologist also ASAP. There are some inherited conditions that affect the quantity and or function of protein C or protein S, which can also increase clotting tendencies, and there are other conditions as well. The hematologist will know what to test you need.
Hello well, the first thing that comes to mind is the hives, which would imply some sort of allergy.  I do not know about the medication that was infused, and I do not know the "blood thinners" that you are taking, there are many and they are different in how they work.  It sounds like the IVs infiltrated and then there was a reaction to the infiltrated medication.  There is a lot more information that I would need to get to the bottom of this. I suggest that you see a Hematologist in your area, they can get to the bottom of this better than I can with so little information.
