Orthopaedic Surgeon Questions Orthopaedic Surgeon

My arm hurts?

I'm pretty sure I injured myself. I heard a pop in my arm earlier. My arm felt a bit sore at the time, but throughout the day it seemed to worsen. Most of the pain seems to be concentrated in my elbow, but it feels as though it goes down to my palm and up into my shoulder. It is sharp and when I stretch my arm it intensifies.

NSAIDs/give it a couple weeks, if not better, go see ortho
See an orthopedic surgeon. Probably serious.
This pain/injury could represent a number of different things. First thing that comes to mind is a biceps tendon injury at the elbow/forearm. If you notice a cosmetic asymmetry in the injured versus an injured arm, distal biceps injury could be likely. Would recommend seeing a orthopedic surgeon to evaluate your elbow/arm to determine if an MRI is warranted. Would recommend avoiding heavy lifting/use of the arm until you see A physician.
I’m so sorry you injured yourself. It sounds like you do need an X-ray immediately to make sure there’s nothing going on. I would recommend seeing a doctor at an urgent care center.
A “pop” in the arm would result in injury to the muscl, tendons or ligaments. Which is injured depends on what you are doing. We’re you lifting heavy object, quick motion, repetitive activity? Also degree can be determined by motion, swelling, bruising. Most muscle, tendon injuries take 3-6 weeks to heal. I would recommend limiting painful activities, light heat to involved area, some daily motion (stretch). If not gone by 3 weeks or getting worse with rest then see an orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation. Good luck !
