Numbness in face?

I had a root canal almost 2 weeks ago. They used novocaine in order to do it. I still feel at times like my face and jaw are still feeling the effects of the novocaine, lightly numb and tingly. Is this normal?
I have had novocaine before and never felt this after a period of time.

With all injections, there is risk of nerve damage and prolonged numbness. I would follow up with your dentist immediately. The majority of times that there is prolonged numbness, all symptoms are self-limiting within 6 weeks; however, it is important for the dentist to know the issue, map the numbness so progress of healing can be properly assessed, and they may give you some anti-inflammatory medications to try and help the healing. I would also recommend taking vitamin B12.
Go back and consult with the doctor who did it, AND get a 2nd opinion. It is a rare occurrence, but it does happen.
