Podiatrist (Foot and Ankle Specialist) Questions Podiatrist

Painful big toe?

I stubbed my big toe very hard a couple of weeks ago. It is swollen and purple almost instantly. I iced, elevated, wore a boot, Ibu-tyl rotation. Nothing seems to be working. It's still painful and still swollen. Any suggestions.

I recommend a visit with a local podiatrist to have exam and xray done asap.
Unfortunately you have to walk on the injured area which prolongs the healing process. Any sprain injury takes 6 - 8 weeks to completely heal.
You probably need an X-ray
Infection is likely. You may need oral antibiotics. You need to go to your podiatrist to have it evaluated.

You may have fractured your toe. Please visit a local podiatrist so they can take x rays and evaluate you for your condition.
Go to a specialist and have an X-ray taken to make sure you have no fracture.
Take an X-ray, you could have a fracture or dislocation.

You should be seen and have an X-ray to rule out a fracture.
Could be broken. Suggest getting an x-ray.
Go to see a Podiatrist or other foot and ankle specialist. You may have fractured your toe. There is no way to know without an xray
Hello,

I would recommend getting X-rays done at an urgent care and wearing a stiff-soled shoe.

Dr. Lui
I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for workup and X-rays of the foot to evaluate for possible fracture.
In order to answer this question properly, you have to check with your physician get X-rays to be sure there was not a fracture or if there was a fracture of the location. Then, this question could be answered accurately and properly. It is unprofessional to answer any type of question without a complete medical history and previous treatment history.

Thank you,
