Pilonidal cyst?

I had a cyst on 26th May-2022 in my butt crack. My doctor diagnosed it as a pilonidal cyst. He gave me local anesthesia and drained out all the puss on 30th May-2022. I have been relieved from the pain and have also been going to the doctor for a dressing change. He puts a new gauge every day, however, I saw him yesterday and changed the gauge in the incision. Then he told me to come after one day. But now I can see a bit of puss coming out. Is it dangerous? The doctor also put me on APO-CEPHALEXIN antibiotics.

A small amount of pus after a pilonidal cyst drainage can be normal as the wound heals, but if you notice increasing pain, redness, swelling, a bad smell, or fever, it could be a sign of infection.

Since you are already on antibiotics, continue taking them as prescribed. Keep the area clean and dry, and avoid sitting for long periods. If the pus increases or symptoms worsen, see your doctor for further evaluation.
