Recurring cellulitis and sepsis?

I have been admitted to hospital 4 times in less than 1.5 years for cellulitis and sepsis. I have vitaligo. Can this be part of a problem - or causing this chronic condition?

Greetings,

Vitiligo is typically not a source of infection. Vitiligo though may be abraded by itching and then could be a source of skin bacteria colonization. Analyze your skin areas; look for clogged skin pores or abrasions or itch sores. Consider hair follicles that may harbor bacteria. Be wary of scratching.

Vitiligo is not necessarily something that would result and/or via causative agent for repeated cellulitis. Albeit, if you have cracks and/or breaks in the skin, you now have a portal of entry in order for cellulitis to occur. If you’re on any type of immunosuppressive agents, that would also add to your increased likelihood of getting an infection/cellulitis.

Be well,
